Re-using excess condensate water - Case Study

Re-using water saves costs and optimizes performace.

A waste-to-energy plant in Tampere, Finland incinerates 160,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste annually and is equipped with the latest technology. Despite this, it was producing excess amounts of flue gas condensate water.

The waste-to-energy plant has all the latest state-of-the-art technology, including a semi dry system scrubber to purify the flue gas and a water condenser to condensate the flue gas humidity into liquid water and therefore increase the plant energy output. Even though the plant’s performance was outstanding in terms of its emission purification and energy efficiency, the plant operator faced a challenge with the excess amount of flue gas condensate water.

The plant operator contacted Sofi Filtration, to solve the issue regarding the excess amount of condensate water.

Download the case study to find out how we solved the excess condensate water issue, helped the plant to further save costs and increased the power plant energy output by 5–10%.
