Alchemist Technology Achieves Breakthrough at Pampalo Gold Mine – Sofi Filtration and Endomines to improve resource efficiency and water treatment
Together with Endomines, we are pleased to announce the successful completion of the first pilot of the Alchemist technology at the Pampalo gold mine. The trial has delivered outstanding results, demonstrating up to 99% recovery rates of valuable concentrate from process water of the mineral processing plant, and capturing additional valuables.
During the pilot, the Alchemist solution was seamlessly integrated into Pampalo’s operations. The system ran through a full operational production cycle in the plant with no interruptions to primary concentration.
“This pilot was enabled by strong support from our shareholder EIT RawMaterials. The introduction of new technology in industrial environments requires significant investment and we are grateful for the dedicated funding vehicles EIT RawMaterials has, said Nina Harjula, CMO, Sofi Filtration.
“This milestone proves the scalability and efficiency of our Alchemist solution in a real production environment,” said Riina Salmimies, CEO, Sofi Filtration “Achieving high recovery from process waters not only maximizes resource use but also ensures cleaner waters and is a major step forward in sustainable mining.”
Endomines expressed strong satisfaction with the outcome. “We are very pleased with the pilot results and the smooth integration into our operations,” said Ilkka Räty, COO, Endomines. “The collaboration opens new opportunities for enhanced resource efficiency and responsible mining. We see this as a great opportunity to jointly showcase the mining expertise we have in Finland.”
With both parties aligned, Sofi and Endomines are pursuing further collaboration to unlock the value in process waters and expand the use of innovative technologies in mining.
